Flossie Jane Bates Wood

Mrs. Flossie Wood, 93, passed away Monday, July 19, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born August 16, 1916 in Surry County. She attended New Vision Baptist Church. Mrs. Wood was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Phipps. Her legacy includes: her son-in-law, Curtis Phipps; three granddaughters, Denise Solomon and husband, Gerald of Winston-Salem, Karen Beck and husband Malcolm of High Point, and Yvonne Levan and husband Ronald of Mocksville; one grandson, Jonathan Phipps and wife Vicki of Walkertown; five great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 10:00am, Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Pastor Tracy Webb officiating.
