Florence Adams

Florence "Mimi" Rosetta Peele Adams, age 92, died on February 4, 2018 in Winston-Salem, NC. Florence was born on October 30, 1925 in Surry County, to the late Foy Webster and Liller Evelyn Collins Peele. She worked as an Office Manager for Dr. Christian and Dr. Stafford until 1975, and then went to work for Dr. David Sullivan until she retired in 2011. She was an active member with ABWA, (American Business Women's Association), for 30+ years, earning the "Woman of the Year" award for 1992-1993. She also served as an officer and several committee chairman positions during her tenure. Florence enjoyed ballroom dancing, winning first and second place in many of her competitions. She also enjoyed painting and being outside gardening and planting flowers. She is preceded in death by her sister, Ora Lee Mayberry and two brothers, Arthur Peele and Donnie Peele. Florence is survived by her daughter, Sandra Butler, of Pfafftown, NC; her son, Tommy Key (Kitty), of Myrtle Beach, SC; her granddaughter, Kim Mabe (David), of Walkertown and her two great grandsons, Steven and Joshua Mabe. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 10 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. John Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory (Walkertown).
