Mrs. Flavel Hester Idol, 87, of Lexington died Tuesday March 26, 2013 at Bermuda Commons. She was born September 2, 1925 in Forsyth County, the daughter of the late, Charlie Andrew and Maggie Estelle Reed Hester. Mrs. Idol was a member of Grace Baptist Temple where she was a member of the DMA. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Rufus Idol and her two sisters, Dorothy Morton and Loretta Montgomery. Survivors include two daughters, Joyce George and husband, B. W. of Lexington and Peggy Carroll and husband, Tom of Arcadia; four grandchildren, Lori George, Darian George, Philip Carroll and wife, Sandi and Andrea Keene and husband, Stephen; three great grandchildren, Mackenzie George, Logan Carroll and Michael Keene; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Friday at 2:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Ed Sears and Rev. Jim Bush officiating. Burial will follow in Saints Delight Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
