Faythe Parks Landreth, a beloved resident of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2023 at the age of 96, at her daughter’s home in Raleigh, NC. She was born on February 12, 1927 to the late Ralph Leo and Irene Lee Parks. Faythe grew up in Winston-Salem where she met and married Charles William Landreth Jr. on December 27, 1945. Together, they were blessed with three children.
Faythe exemplified the qualities of faithfulness, humility, compassion, and kindness. She was a woman who loved unconditionally and cherished everyone she met. Faythe was an active member of New Philadelphia Moravian Church until her health prohibited her from attending. She dedicated 25 years of service to AT&T in the payroll department. Faythe found immense joy in spending time with her friends and family. She had a love of nature and always enjoyed working in her flowers, her yard, and her garden. She also loved watching all of the birds that called her yard home. Faythe’s sharp mind, competitive spirit, and love for adventure were evident in her passion for working puzzles, traveling, reading a good book, and watching any kind of sports, especially major league baseball. Faythe always wanted to engage with her family, whether it was playing ball with them when they were young or simply preparing a delicious meal for them to enjoy. Her children often laugh at the memory of her hopping on their minibike and speeding out across the front yard, or her jumping on the Sea-Doo and heading out across Lake Norman at the age of seventy.
In addition to her parents, Faythe was preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles William Landreth; her sisters Betty White and Margaret Whitsett; her brothers Roger Parks, Charles Parks, David Parks, and John Parks; and her son-in-law Thomas Liverman.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: Debbie Landreth Liverman of Raleigh, Keith Landreth (Carol) of Raleigh and Michael Landreth (Kim) of Advance; one sister, Ann Goforth (Gerald) of Winston-Salem; one sister-in-law, Barbara Parks of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren: Tyler Liverman of Raleigh, Dr. M. Brandon Landreth (Annelise) of Cary, Bradley Landreth (Jade) of Advance, Brittany Landreth of Advance, Joel Smith (Tammy) of Birmingham, Jonathan (Meaghan) of Roxboro, and Amy Smith McKinney (Nathan) of Raleigh; thirteen great grandchildren: Nathaniel Landreth, Alice Landreth, Sophia Landreth, Corbin Smith, Kaylee Smith, Cayden Smith, Collins Smith, Hannah McKinney, Titus McKinney, Leah McKinney, Rebekah McKinney, Matilyn Smith, and Brady Smith.
Faythe’s legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed but leaves behind a trail of love, kindness, and cherished memories. May her spirit of compassion and her love for life inspire us all to live with the same faith, humility, and love that she embodied.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m on Sunday, November 12, 2023 in God’s Acre at New Philadelphia Moravian Church with Rev. Sam Gray officiating.
