Kernersville – Mrs. Faye Harmon Parnell, 74, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Kerner Ridge Assisted Living. She was born in Asheboro, NC on April 27, 1946. Her parents were Charlotte Harrelson Earl and Henry Dean Earl. She was an avid bowler at one time and she also loved to cook and crochet. Faye loved spending time at the softball field watching her granddaughter play. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband, Norman Parnell, Jr.; her grandson, Travis Parnell; daughter-in-law, Loretta Parnell; and two brothers. She is survived by her son, Tommy Parnell; daughter, Stephanie Blair (husband, Mark); four grandchildren, Traci Bryant (husband, Dan), Levi Parnell, Maegan Blair, and Brandon Cox; five great grandchildren; one sister, Darlene Lewallen (husband, Ron); two brothers, Mike Harmon (wife, Bonnie) and Kevin Harmon (wife, Sallie); and brother-in-law, Kerry Parnell (wife, Gretta) and sister-in-law, Susie Davis (husband, John).
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the Kerner Ridge Assisted Living Horizons Staff and to Trellis Supportive Care for their loving care during Faye’s time there.
A graveside service for Faye will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at Abbotts Creek Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Kermit Blair officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kernersville Shepherd's Center at 431 W. Bodenhamer Street, Kernersville, NC 27284. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family.
