GERMANTON - Evoline ""Liney"" Tuttle Lawson, 91, passed away Wednesday, October 20, 2010 after an extended period of declining health. She was born in Forsyth County on November 17, 1918 to the late Grover Lester Tuttle and Mattie Grubbs Tuttle. Mrs. Lawson was a member of Corinth Church of Christ. She spent her working years at home caring for her family. In her later years, she loved to spend time at the beach, fishing, and working around the house and in the yard. Her green thumb could grow about anything you could imagine; especially flowers, which she dearly loved and enjoyed. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed by all of us. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawson was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hobert Lawson; two sisters, Cleo Westmoreland and Nealie Kiger; and two brothers, Nelson Tuttle and Bill Tuttle. Mrs. Lawson is survived by one daughter, Kay Tuttle and husband, Max of Germanton; two grandchildren, Lesa Hudgins and husband, Tim and Kerry Tuttle and wife, Sandy; three great-grandchildren, Joshua Hudgins, Nicholas Tuttle and Jordan Hudgins; one brother, Harvey Tuttle and wife, Rachel of Germanton; a sister-in-law, Charlotte Tuttle of Rural Hall; and several nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at Crestview Memorial Park with Walter Brewer, Minister and Judith Pittman, Chaplain officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. this evening, October 22, 2010 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall. In honor of Evoline's love of flowers, flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. The family would like to send a warm heart-felt thank you to the staff of Walnut Cove Health and Rehab Center for your special care and kindness over the last 2 ½ years. Additionally, we would like to send a special thanks to all the nurses and other staff of Hospice who have cared so tirelessly for Mrs. Lawson over the past several years.
