Mr. Everette Edsil Turner passed away Monday, June 16, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born in Yadkin County on March 13, 1928 to the late Loyd and Lelia Shore Turner. Mr. Turner proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was a 32nd degree Mason. He retired from McLean Trucking with 32 years of service.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Turner was preceded in death by two brothers. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Mamie Turner; daughter, Denise Jenkins (Jerry); son, Steve Turner (Sue); two grandchildren, Jennifer Grigg (Jody) and Jeremy Decker (Christina); and three great-grandchildren: Keaton, Julianne, and Joelle.

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19 at Crestview Memorial Park with the Rev. Vic Pyles officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 18 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall.
