WINSTON-SALEM-Everett ""Bill"" Preston Heflin, 89, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 10, 2016. He was born November 3, 1926 in Front Royal, VA to the late Herbert H. and Mazie Kinsey Heflin. Mr. Heflin was a United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Roadway Trucking Co. after 38 years of service. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to all who knew him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters, and a brother all of Front Royal, VA. Surviving are his loving wife of 47 years, Louise Calhoun Heflin; son, Terry Heflin and wife, Bonnie; step-son, Larry Lawson and wife, Robyn; daughter, Suzie Nixon and husband, Jim; step-daughter, Debbie Hallford and husband, Mike; with a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 14, 2016 at Kernersville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 896 Old Winston Rd., Kernersville, NC 27284 with Pastor Donald Davis and Pastor Duane Peterson officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery located at Graves St., Kernersville, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church.
