Mr. Everet ""Buck"" Nelson Billings, 73, of Winston-Salem passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born January 22, 1937 in Wilkes County to Dewey Marvin and Myrtle Pruitt Billings. Mr. Billings was retired from R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company with 31 years of service. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Dorothy B. Holcomb. Surviving are his wife, Janice Long Billings, of the home; one stepson, David Sheets and wife Teresa of Winston-Salem; one grandson, Travis Sheets; three brothers, Elmer Billings of Winston-Salem, Hurley Billings and Benny Billings, both of Traphill; three sisters, Arkie B. Perdue of Traphill, Reo B. McBride of Winston-Salem, and Ella B. Byrd of Lexington. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 9 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Avery Varnadore, the Rev. Dan Walser, the Rev. David Neese and Dr. Joe Long officiating. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
