Mrs. Annie "Evelyn" Mabe Windsor, 91, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2024, at her home, with her devoted son by her side. She was born May 23, 1933. Evelyn grew up in Tobaccoville. Following graduation from Old Richmond School, her first employment was in banking. On July 26, 1954, she married her sweetheart, William “Bill” Franklin Windsor. She later worked as a church secretary, at Western Electric and lastly at Morris Heating and Cooling. Her greatest joy was in family and being a homemaker. She was a faithful member of North Point Baptist Church until her health declined. After several years of living with dementia, she is now home with her Savior. Mrs. Windsor was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters and a brother. She is survived by her beloved sons, David F. Windsor and wife Chica of Lexington and Kelly Windsor and wife Lynette of Rural Hall, and her grandchildren, Jareth Windsor of King and Mary Windsor currently of China. She is also survived by two special cousins, Wilburn Mabe of Yadkinville, and Betty Chitty of Tennessee and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024, at North Point Baptist Church with Pastor Jason Fletcher and Pastor Skip Furrow officiating. Burial will follow in Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
