Evelyn Simpson

Ms. Evelyn Mae Simpson, 99, of Winston-Salem, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Evelyn was born March 31, 1919 in Forsyth County to Fidus Gray Simpson and Mattie Brown Simpson. She was a longtime resident of Martinsville, VA before moving back to Winston-Salem. Evelyn was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved to listen to old hymns and preaching on the radio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, William, Robert, Fidus, Opal and Colleen.

Evelyn is survived by her nieces, Suzanne Simpson and Robin Blackman and sisters in law, Lois Quadrio and Texie Simpson. The family would also like to extend thanks to Evelyn's special friends, Vera, Alice, Linda, Pam and Lashavona Lance for their many visits and prayers.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 11 AM at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.

Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is serving the family.
