Mrs. Evelyn Settle Parrish, 87, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born in Forsyth County on May 14, 1928 to the late William Joseph and Bernice Money Settle. Mrs. Parrish was a longtime member of Crews United Methodist Church where she served as the financial secretary and sang in the church choir for over 40 years. Preceding her in death was her husband, Paul Lee Parrish, Sr. and a granddaughter, Lori Ann Parham. Surviving is a son, Paul L. Parrish, Jr. and wife, Cathy of Walnut Cove; two daughters, Becky P. Parham and husband, Rick of Belews Creek and Carolyn P. Craig of Shreveport, LA; five grandchildren, Heather Kirkman, Shane Parrish, Amanda P. Shelton, Sarah Craig, and Rachel Craig; seven great-grandchildren; also surviving are two sisters, Nancy S. Cockerham of Myrtle Beach and Helen S. Monk of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Crews United Methodist Church with Rev. Gary Camp officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Crews United Methodist Church, 4150 Reidsville Rd.
