Evelyn D. Martin

Mrs. Evelyn D. Martin of Walkertown went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 14, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Stella Poe and her two daughters, Chandra Tidwell (Bobby) and Brandy Mitchell (Rickey), five grandchildren, Ashley, Erin and Maggie Tidwell and Elijah and Samuel Mitchell. Evelyn is also survived by her long time companion, Gerard Eaton. She was preceded in death by her son, Dean Bray. A graveside service will be conducted 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Germanton with Rev. Todd Lusk officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30-3:00 at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall on Tuesday prior to the graveside service. II Timothy 4-7, I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith. The family would like to send a special thank you to Hospice and Palliative Care of Walnut Cove, The Sheppard's Center and Forsyth Regional Cancer Center, Radiation/Oncology Department.
