Evelyn Shore Lawrence

Mrs. Evelyn Shore Lawrence, 95, of Winston-Salem, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born December 18, 1916 in Wilkes County to John Henry and Alcie Walker Shore. Mrs. Lawrence was a faithful member of Griffith Baptist Church as long as her health permitted. She was a loving wife, mom and grandmother. She was married 55 years to Graham G. Lawrence whom she helped with farming as well as helping in their restaurant, Lawrence's Grill. She was preceded in death by her husband; a granddaughter, Kim Shutt; two sisters; and three brothers. Surviving are one son, W. F. Lawrence and wife, Gloria of Winston-Salem; three daughters, Martha Shutt and husband Tommy, Shirley Atwood and husband Bobby, all of Winston-Salem, and Lyn Kennedy of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Graham Shutt and wife Kari, Donna Drane, Ashley Bailey and husband Jimmy, and Gene Hawkins and wife Niki; and nine great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 26, at Griffith Baptist Church with the Rev. Tony Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, November 25, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
