Evelyn Bacon LaMere

Evelyn Bacon LaMere, 77, died December 28, 2011, in Winston-Salem, NC, with family by her side. At her request, no service will be held. She was born February 12, 1934, in Hartford, CT, to Mortimer and Ethel Bacon. She was one of eighteen children. A tomboy at heart, she dreamed of being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. On October 16, 1954, she married her one and only true love, Norman LaMere Sr. Together, they had four children. Her life's passion was her husband, children, and grandchildren. They were married for fifty years, when Norman passed away February 11, 2005. Evelyn LaMere is survived by her two sisters, Ruth Dwelley and Ethel Lee; and her sister-in-law, Jean (Bonnie) Bacon. She is survived by her daughter, Debra Brown; three sons, Norman Jr., William, and Joseph; and granddaughters, Melissa Ploskonka and her husband, Mark Ploskonka, and Lynn LaMere; grandsons, Chaz, Norman III, and Richard LaMere.
