Evelyn Caudle Holder, widow of Robert Raymond Holder, Jr., passed away May 30, 2012 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem, NC. Mrs. Holder was born July 20, 1920 to Tom and Ruth Caudle of Winston-Salem. She graduated from South High School. She went to Chapel Hill to get her Real Estate License and became one of the first female real estate brokers in North Carolina. She retired after 22 years. Mrs. Holder was a member of Forsyth Country Club and Parkway Presbyterian Church. She loved bridge, golf, gardening and her many friends. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Wood and Hazel Cook and two brothers, Tom Caudle and Oscar Caudle. Surviving are her son, Robert Raymond Holder, III and daughter-in-law, Karen Holder of Matthews; her granddog, Graci; sisters, Jerrie McDaniel of Winston-Salem and Florence Gibson of Winston-Salem, Jackie Shore of Charlotte and Jean Carter of East Bend; three brothers, Ray Caudle, Roger Caudle and Cecil Caudle of Winston-Salem. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Parkway Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Habitat for Humanity.
