Evelyn Tesh Couch

Mrs. Evelyn Tesh Couch, 82, of Winston-Salem, passed away August 27, 2009 at the home of her son in Meadows of Dan, VA after months of declining health. She was born in Forsyth County on October 1, 1926 to the late Ira L. and Ethel Woosley Tesh. Mrs. Couch was a member of Friedberg Moravian Church, where she was baptized as an infant on July 24, 1927. She graduated in 1944 from Griffith High School and retired in 1983 from the Veteran's Administration with 32 years of service. She married the love of her life, Raymond E. Couch on April 29, 1947 and was married for 59 years. She was preceded in death by her husband in June of 2006; her son, Michael E. Couch in March 2009; and a brother, Ira L. Tesh. Mrs. Couch is survived by her daughter, Jane C. Hardison (Mike) of Lewisville; a son, David L. Couch (Tiffany) of Meadows of Dan, VA; a brother, Richard W. Tesh (Wanda) of Winston-Salem; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Couch of Virginia Beach, VA; seven grandchildren, Julie Parks (Rory), Jared Hardison, Jonathan, Gabriel, and Allie Couch, Shannon Sherman (Josh), Angela Yeagher (Johnny); three great-grandchildren, Gavin Parks, Matthew Hanson, and Shaylee Sherman. A graveside funeral service will be held at 3:30PM, Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Friedberg Moravian Church with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. James C. Newsome, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service.
