Kernersville - Mrs. Eunice Jean Meadows Carter, 74, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Forsyth Medical Center. Eunice was born June 26, 1941 in Buncombe County to Howard William and Eula Kathern Sluder Meadows. She dearly loved her family and enjoyed family get-togethers, especially vacationing at log cabins in the mountains. Eunice loved to travel and enjoyed sharing Saturday morning breakfasts with her friends.

Eunice was preceded in death by her father, Howard Meadows; one brother Ralph James Meadows; and one sister, Norma Lee Meadows.

Surviving are her husband, John Paul Carter; two daughters Lynn (Richard) Beasley and Lisa (Gary) Jackson; her mother, Eula Kathern Meadows; six grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Hayworth Miller Kernersville Chapel with Pastor Wayne Dunn officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown. The family will receive friends from 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
