Eugene Terry

Mr. Eugene Terry, 83, of Walkertown, passed away Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born May 5, 1925 in Searcy County, Arkansas to the late Roscoe and Grace Sanders Terry. Mr. Terry was a member of Oak Summit Community Church, and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lawson Terry of the home; four children, Randy Terry of Charlotte, Pat Swaim and husband Rick, Lynn Koonts and Dale Terry, all of Winston-Salem; two stepchildren, Angela Snoke and husband Chuck, and Timothy Stamper and wife Kathy, all of Winston-Salem; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a sister, Nellie Mae Guynes of Vicksburg, MS; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. Chris Byrne and Mr. Dave Bohr officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory with military rites by the VFW Memorial Honor Guard. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
