FIELDS - RURAL HALL
Mr. Eugene Fields, 88, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born December 21, 1927 in Pike County, KY to the late Trulie Ann Pinson Fields and Robert Lee Fields. Gene proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was the President of Family Sweets Candy Company, which he founded with his brother, Leon Fields. Gene was an active member of the Honorable Order of the Kentucky Colonels and the Lions Club. He attended St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his wife of 34 years, Eunice Neal Fields; and four siblings: Ginevra Fields, Aubrey Fields, Leon Fields, and Lovetta Smith. Surviving are five children: Darrell Fetty (Joyce) of Studio City, CA, Robert Fields (Jane) of St. Albans, WV, Debbie Reed (Lonnie) of Winfield, WV, Nona Fields of St. Albans, WV, and Stephen Fields of Princeton, WV; seven grandchildren: Barbie, Bobbie, Elizabeth, Alan, Derek, Chasity, and Tyler; four siblings: Jerome Fields of MD, Clifford Fields of NC, Vangie Edwards of WV, and Panola Lucas of WV; eleven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. A funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Rev. Dana Fruits officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
