KERNERSVILLE-Ethel Mabel Osborne Tucker, 96, passed away Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Bradford Village West in Kernersville where she made her home for the past five years. She was born March 29, 1914 in Guilford Co. to the late D.E and Lucy Inman Osborne. Ethel lived her life in Guilford Co. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith, and loved to farm and did so for many years with her husband, Ted. She loved a garden and took pride in taking care of the produce. She was an excellent cook. Ethel also helped in the health care of her sisters and brother as they aged. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and always liked to hear about what they were doing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Eugene Tucker ""Ted""; four sisters, Aileen Gaither, Bertha Swink, Bessie Osborne, Ettie Phillips; and one brother, Roy Osborne. Surviving are her son, Larry Tucker and wife, Mary Ann of Colfax; two grandchildren, Thad Tucker and wife, Heather, Jason Tucker all of Greensboro; four great-grandchildren, Conner, Peyton, Layne and Blair Tucker; one brother, Ralph Osborne. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Saturday, August 14, 2010 at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro with Rev. Phil Kirkman officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to Shady Grove Wesleyan Church, PO Box 98, Colfax, NC 27235. Ethel's family wishes to thank the staff at Bradford Village for their support and loving care they extended to Ethel during her time there.
