Ethel Rhodes

Mrs. Ethel Rosetta Rhodes of High Point, NC passed away unexpectedly at her home on January 9, 2023 at the age of 64. She was born on September 18, 1958, to Bonnie Osborne and the late Frank Hooks in Denton, NC. Ethel loved animals and had a kind and generous spirit. As an active volunteer throughout most of her life, she could not say no to any animal or person in need. Ethel had a vivacious sense of humor and was easily entertained by a good joke, often laughing at her own expense. Much like her daughter she loved coffee and could usually be found with a cup in her hand. She enjoyed the beach, mountains, art, wordsearches, crocheting, and spending quality time with her family. Most of all, she loved being a mother and a grandmother and her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was adored by and devoted to her family and friends and her life will forever be cherished by all. In addition to her father, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Mitchel Rhodes; two brothers, Billy Joe and James Hooks; sister, Rose Lee, and stepdaughter, Vickie Rhodes. She is survived by her mother, Bonnie Osborne; daughter, Amy Gardner (Jody) and their two sons Finn and Atticus; son, Billy Keegan (Amy) and their two sons Spencer and Slate; brother, Don Hooks; sister, Ressa Stroud (Lee); nephew, Terry Lee; stepchildren, Jason, Luke, and Deanna Rhodes; and her beloved dog Ginger. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Pinedale Christian Church with Pastor Jon Hauser officiating.
