Mrs. Ethel Henschel McGee, 92, of Winston-Salem passed away Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born March 11, 1918 in Mackinac County, Michigan to August and Pauline Maisers Henschel. Mrs. McGee was a faithful member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church as long as her health permitted. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, John Lewis McGee; a daughter, Loretta M. Harrison; grandson, Michael Davenport; and son-in-law, Tom Davenport; and all of her siblings. Surviving are two daughters, Dawn M. Davenport of Winston-Salem and Beverly M. Seivers and Joe of Clemmons; three grandchildren, April R. Martin, Amy DeBusk, and Todd Davenport; four great grandchildren, Bradley Joyce, Lauren Joyce, Caleb Davenport, and Peyton Martin; and one great-great grandson, Keagan Joyce. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 3 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with the Rev. G. Thomas Shelton and the Rev. Eileen Ayuso officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church Cemetery in Walkertown. The family will receive friends Friday at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. The family would like to express their appreciation to The Oaks at Forsyth for the care and compassion given to Mrs. McGee for 8 ½ years. Memorials may be made to Kate B.
