Ms. Esther Jones Walters, 86 of Winston-Salem
passed away April 28th at her daughter's
home. She was born September 9th, 1928 in Goldsboro NC to William and Mary Jones. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Constable Ernest Wilson
Walters, son Ernerst (Ernie) Wilson Walters Jr. both of Winston-Salem
and a sister
Doris Martin of Wilmington NC. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother and friend.
She gave selflessly and unconditionally always putting her family first. She was employed
throughout the years with Mt Tabor Market, Kroger and AT&T. Her volunteer services
included Senior Services Meals on Wheels and The Samaritan Soup Kitchen.
Survivors include her daughter, Mary Jane (MJ) Walters of Clemmons, a brother
Harrell (Molly) Jones of Winston-Salem,
nieces Pam (Gary) Tosco of Mocksville and
Tonja (Dale) Reavis of Yadkinville. Several great nephews and one great great niece.
Her faithful companion Buddy. And special friends Janet Day and Bobbie Thacker.
A private service was held on May 2nd at Forsyth Memorial Park.
Memorial Contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Winston-Salem
or the
""gift"" of your time to a charity of your choice or to someone in need. Esther would want us
to Pay It Forward. The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the staff of Clemmons
Village 2 and to the staff and nurses of Hospice.
