Esther Susana del Valle Dambakakis

Esther Susana del Valle Dambakakis, 89, a resident of Lewisville, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2024, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Esther was born in Havana, Cuba on April 25, 1935, to the late Miguel Gregorio del Valle and Dulce Maria Gonzalez. Esther loved her furry companions, especially her dog Cleopatra. She also enjoyed a good cup of coffee and listening to music by Celia Cruz.

Esther will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Miguel Francisco and Andreas Bernardo Dambakakis, and her beloved dogs, Lucky, Caesar and Buddy.

Esther was survived by her two brothers, Miguel del Valle of Miami, FL and Frank (Georgeta) del Valle of Winston-Salem, NC, her long-time sister-in-law Charlotte del Valle of Winston-Salem, NC, as well as her many nieces and nephews to whom she was their beloved “Tia”, Cisco (Megan) del Valle, Zuly (Matt) McGarrity, Plo del Valle, her godson Alexis (Rachel) del Valle, Tama (Jeff) Gomes, Michael del Valle, Leonardo del Valle and 9 grandnieces and grandnephews, Hayden, Atticus, Taylor, Logan, Sofia, Madeleine, Sydney, Parker and Paige.

Also left to cherish her memory and survived by her secondary chosen and caring family is Lucila Zarate Olmedo, her godchildren to whom she was beloved “Mama Esther and Tita”; Juan Valerio, Annalucila Valerio Zarate, Annachristina Valerio Zarate, Juan de Jesus, Annaliah Ortiz and Brayan Alvarado. As well as her forever companions and to whom she was beloved “Grandma” Jessica de Ramirez and Viridiana Jazmin Ortiz. Esther will also continue to be remembered in the hearts of additional extended family and friends. 

A private memorial service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church in Winston-Salem. Interment will follow the service in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel is assisting the family.
