Ester Handy

Mrs. Ester May Handy, 97, passed away Thursday, January 5, 2023.  She was born May 1, 1925, in Surry County to the late Morgan and Della Handy.  Ester was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend.  In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Lawrence Handy; son, Vernon Handy.  Mrs. Handy is survived by three sons: Larry Handy (Lynn), Roger Handy (Sheila), and Don Handy; daughter-in-law, Debbie Handy; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Avaline Pruitt (Jesse); and close friends, Helen Jones (Bud).  A graveside service will be conducted 2:00 PM Wednesday, January 11th at Parklawn Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Forsyth Humane Society , 4881 Country Club Rd, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.  Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com.
