Estelle Southern Leazer

Estelle Southern Leazer, 87, slipped into the arms of Jesus at Bermuda Commons on Thursday, August 27, 2015. She was born on August 23, 1928 to Chester W. Southern and Rosa Law Southern in Forsyth County. Estelle retired from Thalhimer's with 22 years of service as a Sales Associate. She also worked for W-S/Forsyth County Schools in the Food Service department. She was a member of First Assembly. Estelle was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Boyce Leazer; as well as sisters, Lola Shoaf and Margaret Rider; and brothers, James G. Southern and Bill R. Southern. Surviving are her son, Dale Leazer; daughters, Beth Leazer Dionne (Fred), and Bonnie Leazer; grandchildren, Zachary, Nathan, and Courtney Leazer, Caleb and Joshua Wilson, and Tessa Mayo; brother, Chester W. Southern (Herlina), and Frank N. Gordon; as well as a life-long friend, Doris Collier. A graveside service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Wayne Branch officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer's Association Western Carolina Chapter, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215.
