Mrs. Estelle Smith Dillon, 88, of Winston-Salem, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2011 at the Brian Center. She was born April 18, 1923 in Burlington, NC to William David and Lonie Lofton Smith. Mrs. Dillon was a charter member of Konnoak Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles William Dillon; one son; four brothers; and one sister. Surviving are two sons, Terry Dillon and wife Geraldine of Kernersville, and Jerry Dillon and wife Carol of Winston-Salem; her grandchildren, Ragan Cains and husband Brad, Will Dillon, Tracey Dillon, and Pamela Dillon; two brothers, Woodrow Smith of Louisiana and Pete Smith of Georgia; a daughter-in-law, Merrill Dillon; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, Lonnie Hicks of High Point and Joey Hughes of Winston-Salem. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 4 at Parklawn Memorial Park with the Rev. John Bishop and the Rev. Jimmy Lancaster officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, November 3 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. Memorials may be made to Konnoak Baptist Church, 400 McLean Ave., Winston-Salem, NC 27127.
