Essie Jarman DeCamp

Mrs. Essie Jarman DeCamp, 84, of Clemmons was called to heaven, Saturday August 3, 2013. She was a native of Duplin County, N.C., a longtime resident of New Bern, N.C. and moved to Forsyth County in 2005. She is survived by her husband, Guy DeCamp; daughters, Susan Mumford and husband, Wayne of North Myrtle Beach, S.C. Diana Goolsby of Bermuda Run, N.C., Wilma Hare and husband, David of Tyner, N.C.; sons, Eddie Sumrell and companion, Joan Norris of Kernersville, Warren Sumrell of New Bern, N.C., William (Chip) Sumrell and wife, Sharol of Clemmons, N.C.; and a stepson, Earl DeCamp and wife, Sharon of New Bern, N.C.; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sisters, Maggie Ham, Maxine Stocks, Paulette Futrell and Betsy Kimbrell, all of whom reside in the Kinston, N.C. area. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday at Cotton Funeral Home in New Bern, N.C.. A private burial will follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park. She was a wonderful wife, mother, terrific homemaker, superlative cook, industrious worker and always a child of God. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com
