Ernest Franklin Widner

WALKERTOWN-Ernest Franklin Widner, 72, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Oak Forest Health & Rehabilitation. He was born June 1, 1937 in Charleston, WV to the late Charles Stevens and Dorothy Gimes Widner. Mr. Widner was a member of Gospel Light Baptist Church for over 42 years where he taught Sunday school and Children's Church for 35 years. He also was a member of Gideons International for over 35 years. Ernest was the store manager of Paragon Food Center in Winston Salem until his retirement. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Taylor Widner. Surviving are three daughters, Kristen Allen and husband Jeffrey of Walkertown, Kathy Dix and husband Tim of Walnut Cove, Suzanne Juoska of Walkertown; four grandchildren, Erin Wadell ad husband Bryan, Jared Covington and wife Natalia, Andrew Juoska, and Emma Allen; one great-grandchild, Levi W. Covington. A funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm Sunday, March 21, 2010 at Gospel Light Baptist Church with Dr. Bobby Roberson and Rev. Frank Shumate officiating. The family will receive friends from 2-3:00 pm prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, March 22, 2010 in Gardens of Memory.
