Mr. Ermie Steven Morris, 75, of Winston-Salem, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home.

Ermie was born January 6, 1940 in Cleveland County to Cephus and Bertha Morris. He worked as a hardware salesman for Pleasants Hardware and retired from Home Depot. He also worked at Oak Valley Golf Club since their opening, where he was able to pursue his passion of playing golf. A devoted grandfather, Ermie loved picking his grandson up from school everyday and was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a proud choir member. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Garland Morris.

Ermie is survived by his loving wife, Lois Thompson Morris of the home; beloved daughter and grandson, Gina Stewart and Chandler Stewart of Winston-Salem; brothers, Wilford Morris and wife Opal of Fort Mill, SC and Hubert Morris and wife Bette of Orlando, FL; sister, Judy Black and husband Robert of Central, SC; sisters-in-law, Colleen Morris, Dot Key and husband Mike, June Wilson and husband Ronnie; brother-in-law, Harold Thompson and wife Patricia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ermie's life will be held Saturday, November 21, 2015 at 11 am at Calvary Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at Westlawn Gardens of Memory.
