Erma Goodman Middleton

Mrs. Erma Goodman Middleton, 87, of Clemmons died Friday, July 20, 2012 at Wilkes Senior Village in North Wilkesboro. She was born October 11, 1924 in West Jefferson, the daughter of the late, James Vance and Nora Wallace Goodman. Mrs. Middleton was a longtime member of Clemmons First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband whom she married June 21, 1947, Carlos Middleton; her first child, Baby Middleton; her second child, Stephen Carlos Middleton and two brothers, Neal Thomas Goodman and Jack Wallace Goodman. Survivors include one brother, Kenneth Gene Goodman and wife, Marcella of West Jefferson; two sisters-in-law, Gladys Greer Goodman of Charlotte and Jesse Middleton Slate of Winston-Salem; one brother-in-law, Jim Middleton and wife, Mary Ruth of Winston-Salem; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Bob and Betsy Middleton of Winston-Salem. The funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 AM at Clemmons First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Robert L. Phillips, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Clemmons First Baptist Church, P. O. Box 279, Clemmons NC 27012.
