Eric Errington Wilson, Jr

Eric Errington “Buddy” Wilson, Jr., age 86, peacefully joined his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday morning, July 23, 2023, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home of Winston-Salem, NC, surrounded by his family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary “Gladys” Wilson and Eric Wilson, Sr.; and his special friend, Keith Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Rader Wilson; his sisters, Wanda Wilson and Sandra Smith; his sister-in-law, Terry Rader; his children, Robin Siega-Riz (Gene), April Hager (Randy), Angie Thomas (Chip), Tom Wilson (Trina), Tracey Ayers (George), and David Wilson (Meghan); his grandchildren, Josh Tharington (Mackenzie), Casey Siega-Riz, Jeff Tharington (Rachel), Matt Tharington, Nick Siega-Riz (Paige), Megan Bennett (Kasey), Amanda Motsinger (Cody), Morgan Mathews (Ryan), Jonathon Wilson (Austyn), and Holly Wilson (Cody); and 14 great grandchildren.

Eric grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and graduated from South Fork School in 1955. He retired from AT&T (Western Electric) in 1990.

Eric loved the birds, plants, trees, gardening, and all of nature. One of his favorite pastimes was playing bingo with his many friends. He loved teaching his grandchildren and great grandchildren how to snap green beans and various things. He will be greatly missed until we see him again.

A celebration of Eric’s life will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2023, at 2:00 PM at Westlawn Gardens of Memory – Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends one-hour prior to his service at the cemetery.
