BOYLES - Winston-Salem Mrs. Ercelle Stanley Boyles, age 87, was called to heaven Friday, October 10, 2008, after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Boyles was born in Surry County in the Rockford Community on October 6, 1921, to the late Joseph Wilson and Ardella Coe Stanley. She was the youngest of eight children. Her loving and caring nature showed through to everyone who met her. After her daughter and son started elementary school, she cared for children in her home for more than 30 years and was known as ""Mom Boyles"" to them and their parents. She loved doing things with her hands, such as sewing, cooking, crafts, and gardening. She was an active member of Trinity Christian Church for over 50 years. Mrs. Boyles was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Posey (P.G.) Boyles, her parents, five brothers, and two sisters. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Jessup (Don) of Winston-Salem; her son Kenneth Boyles (Jeannie) of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren: Ryan Boyles (Kim) of Wake Forest, Nicole Jessup (James Simonson) of Charleston, S.C., Jennifer Boyles Love (Matt) of Winston-Salem, Donnie Jessup of Charleston, S.C., Richard Jessup of Plano, T.X., Benjamin Boyles of Winston-Salem; two great-grandsons, Ian and Mason Boyles of Wake Forest; one sister-in-law, Piney Boyles Slate of King; and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, October 18 at 2:30 p.m., at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel, with the Rev. Douglas Suggs and the Rev. Keith Marsden officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. The family wishes to express their gratitude to all of the caregivers in the Arbor Acres Alzheimers Unit. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Arbor Acres United Methodist Retirement Community Residents Assistance Fund, 1240 Arbor Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27104.
