Era Mae Mitchell Conner

Mrs. Era Mae Conner, age 92 of King passed away Monday evening, May 21, 2012 at Universal Health Care in King. Mrs. Conner was born July 29, 1919 in Davie County to Floyd Alonzo and Mary Beck Mitchell. She was a member of Marshall Baptist Church in Winston-Salem and retired from Westinghouse after ten years of service. Mrs. Conner enjoyed cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents Mrs. Conner was preceded in death by her husbands, W.A. Carter and Graham Conner. Surviving are her two daughters; Gayle (Jim) Reeves and Jeanie (Richard) Lancaster. Six grand-children: Leigh Ann Epperson (Kim), Mary Beth (Chad) Beasley, Jayme (Tim) Brant, David (Elizabeth) Lancaster, Darla (Josh) Russell and Adam (Liesel) Lancaster. Twelve great grand-children. Three sisters: Polly Foster, Eloise (Fred) Pratt and Helen Peoples. Two brothers; Albert (Norma) Mitchell and Mitch (Sally) Mitchell. Several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Conner will be held Wednesday afternoon, May 23, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall by Pastor John Holmes and Mr. George Hardee. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:30 A.M. until 12:30 P.M. Memorials may be made to Marshall Baptist Church, 5739 Old Rural Hall Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27105 or to Universal Health Care Resident's Activity Fund, 115 White Road, King, NC 27021. Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home in Rural Hall is serving the Conner family.
