Emma "Lou" Veach

In loving memory of Emma Lou Veach, we are saddened to announce her peaceful passing on December 27, 2024. Lou was born on August 21,1936 in Jamestown, NC to the late John Curtis Johnson and Florence Barnes Johnson. 

Lou attended high school in Jamestown and worked at the Carolina Theater where she met George, and they were married in 1959. George and Lou moved to Winston-Salem and established the Wilshire Golf Club in 1967.

Lou was preceded in passing by her husband, George Veach; sister, Mary (Earl); and brother, Crayton Johnson. She is survived by her special brother, John Curtis Johnson Jr.; sons, Tod (Kim) Veach and Tim (Michelle) Veach; grandsons, Kevin, Kyle (England), and Kurt (Maniah); a great granddaughter, Manami; and several nieces and nephews. 

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at 3:00pm, at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Pastor Michael Gates officiating. Visitation will follow the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Trellis Supportive Care, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103. 

Lou brought so much happiness into the lives of many. She will be in our hearts forever and will be deeply missed.
