Emma Lou Everhart Joyner

JOYNER Mrs. Emma Lou Everhart Joyner, 86, of Winston-Salem, passed away on Thursday May 19, 2011. Mrs. Joyner was born on July 3, 1924 in Davidson County, North Carolina to the late Farris and Elsie Everhart. Mrs. Joyner married Robert Joyner on February 22, 1947 and they were married for 43 years. She was a devout Christian, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Joyner retired in 1986 after 41 years of service in the administrative department of the Royal Cake Company. Preceding Mrs. Joyner in death along with her parents are her husband, Robert Joyner; a brother, Dermont Everhart and a sister, Edna Walsh. Surviving Mrs. Joyner are a son, Lee Joyner of Winston-Salem; a daughter, Cheryl Joyner of Winston-Salem; a granddaughter, Erica Gray of Concord, NC; two great-granddaughters, Katelyn and Gillian Gray of Concord, NC and a special beagle, ""Daisy."" A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Monday, May 23, 2011 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Kevin Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2011 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel.
