Emma Elizabeth West Hartman, 91, of Winston-Salem died Friday, September 24, 2010 at her home. She was born March 6, 1919 in Davie County, the daughter of the late John Asbury and Mattie Lola McBride West. Mrs. Hartman was a charter member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed making hook rugs, oil painting and jewelry. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Albert Hartman, two brothers, Clint West and Charlie West; three sisters, Velma Aldine West, Laura Lee Fry and Jennie Vee Walker. Survivors include her brother, Bill West and wife Jean of Advance, and four sisters; Zelma Reavis of Harmony, Josephine Reavis of Mocksville, Edith and husband John Fry of Winston-Salem, and Catherine Fry of Advance,_sister in law Lorene West, brother-in-law Wilburn Walker; and several nieces and nephews who thought of Emma as their ""other grandmother, mother and their Aunt Emma"". A Graveside Service will be conducted Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Yadkin Valley Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor Jennings O'Neil officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Heritage Hills Baptist Church 1785 Pope Rd.
