Mrs. Emma Lee Burchette Fulcher, 88, of Winston-Salem died July 12 at K.B. Reynolds Hospice House, surrounded by her children. She was born August 31, 1926, in Forsyth County to Charles Leroy and Minnie Eleanora Landreth Burchette and spent her childhood in the Waughtown Community of Winston-Salem, where she graduated from Grey High School. She attended Immanuel Moravian Church from birth and as an adult became active with the youth group, was a Girl Scout Troop Leader, taught Sunday School, served as a deiner and served on the board of Trustees. In 1979 she became a member of Bethania Moravian Church and continued to be active with their youth group. In later life she was a member of the Quilting Group. Mrs. Fulcher had a career in the banking industry and food service. She is preceded in death by an infant son, Daryl Fulcher and her husband of 57 years, Alton G. ""Tom"" Fulcher. Surviving are their four children, Jerry Fulcher and wife, Noel, Cindy Wilson and husband David, Traci Stanley and husband, Tim, and Brian Fulcher and wife, Summer; seven grandchildren, Jay Fulcher and wife, Stephanie, Kimberlee Swaim and husband, Ryan, Brandon Wilson, Malachi Stanley and fiancé Samantha Styers and Jacob, Zachary and Adam Fulcher; 4 great-grandchildren, Logan and Rylee Swaim, and Tessa and Reid Fulcher, and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Weds July 15th at Bethania Moravian Church with the Rev. David Merritt and the Rev. Cheryl G. Cottingham officiating. Burial will follow in God's Acre in the Salem Moravian graveyard. The family will receive visitors at Hayworth Miller Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Kate B Reynolds Hospice Home, Hospice and Palliative CareCenter, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103 or Bethania Moravian Church, 5545 Main Street, P.O. Box 170, Bethania, NC 27010. Mrs. Fulcher's family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of KBR Hospice House who so lovingly cared for her after she suffered a stroke early last week.
