Emma Madeline Sage Fouts passed away at her home this December 22,2012. She is now with the love of her life, Ferrell Joseph Fouts back sailing on the Carpe Diem through the heavens. Though she has left us in body, we all know that her spirit is at peace. Madeline leaves behind two daughters, Jennifer Leigh Fouts of Mooresville, and Cynthia Fouts Gimbert and son in law Hunter Gimbert of Pfafftown. Two grandchildren that are the loves of her life, Tucker Cole Gimbert and Sarah Hunter Gimbert. She is also survived by her sister Mary Lou White and brother in law, David White, brothers George B Sage and wife Mary Charles of Winston Salem, Harold Sage and wife Venice of King. She is also survived by her faithful and loving companion Velvet. Madeline lived a full and exciting life traveling with her husband Joe, raising her two daughters and then taking care of her grandchildren. She learned to read maps and charts to help navigate the many trips down the Intercoastal Waterway for 13 years on the Carpe Diem a sailboat she and Joe had in SeaPath Marina in Wilmington, NC. Madeline worked for Container Corporation of North America for 45 years where she was known forever as the lady who was run over by a train on the day she got her job. Wife to a proud Marine who served in the South Pacific she supported the troops with a passion. We will all miss her deeply, but take comfort in knowing that she is with our father, Ferrell Joseph Fouts again and for eternity. There will be a private family viewing on Sunday and there will be a memorial service held in her honor to celebrate her life on Saturday January 12, 2013 at 12 noon at Hayworth Miller Silas Creek Chapel in Winston Salem. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Toys For Tots Marine charity or Senior Services Meals on Wheel program of Winston Salem.
