Emma Myers Allen

Mrs. Emma Myers Allen, 85, of Advance passed away Monday, August 18, 2008 at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born April 10, 1923 in Davie County to Silas and Annie Jarvis Myers. Mrs. Allen was a member of Mocks United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie J. Allen, two sisters and three brothers. She is survived by two sons, John Allen and wife Rosalie and Terry Allen and wife Sarah, all of Advance; four grandsons, Mike, Dwayne, Jason and Greg Allen; three great-grandchildren and a sister, Leona McCulloh of Advance. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 21, 2008 at Mocks United Methodist Church with Rev. Jonathan Brake officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Memorials may be made to Mocks United Methodist Church Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
