On September 9, 2015, our precious Emily Jane left this earthly world and is now in the arms of our Heavenly Father. Emi is healed and happy! She will be remembered most for her spunky, tell it like it is personality. She was such a loving and genuine child who never complained, despite the years of doctor visits, hospital stays, medical tests, pain and suffering.
Emily Jane's sweet voice will remain in our memories as we each cherish the special moments we shared with her. Her grandparent's house was her home away from home. She would even bet her maw maw her house in Trouble games. Her papaw called her ""Stinkweed."" She would respond by calling him a ""Bigger Stinkweed."" He loved the chocolate pies she would make him. She loved to swing, color, and listen to Ariana Grande. Em loved sharing secrets with her big sister Megan. They would laugh and giggle, but never share with anyone else. Emi would demand that her mom go to bed so she and Rachel could stay up late and play Wii. Emi loved story time with her favorite family and friend characters. In her final days of life, she called her stepdad Richie, ""Daddy"" and would not stop. Emi knew without a doubt her mom would be taken care of. Her mom will miss their daily hour swings on the front porch spending mom and Emily time.
Emily is survived by her mother Michelle Ruch and husband Richard; her father David Eddleman; sisters Megan Eddleman and Rachel Ruch; one brother Richie Acord; grandparents Carolyn and Mike Holton, Bobby and Melinda Eddleman, Ruby and Robert Powe, Richard and Teresa Ruch and Jeanne Pelt, A special Nanny and pawpaw Audrie and Jakie Myers and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Emi brought a smile to everyone she met. In her seven years of life, she touched many, some we didn't even know. We appreciate the outpouring of support and prayers for our sweet girl and our family. For that, we are forever grateful. We would like to extend a special thank you to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) Lung Transplant program with special thanks to Miss Eden whom she loved dearly, as well as, UNC Chapel Hill Children's Hospital. And many special nurses that cared for her in her home.
A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
