Elsie Marie Simpson

Mrs. Elsie Marie Briggs Simpson, 89, formerly of Winston-Salem, NC, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at the Manor Lake Assisted Living in Canton, GA. She was born November 13, 1933, in Jerseyville, Illinois to William Jefferson Briggs, Sr. and Pearl Margaurite Cope Briggs. Mrs. Simpson was a member of Northwest Baptist Church in Winston-Salem, NC. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milford Simpson. Surviving are four children, Debra Cobb (Jerrell) of Canton, GA, Steve Simpson (Maryann) of Clemmons, NC , Mark Simpson (Dawn) of Winston-Salem, NC and Jeff Simpson (Kim) of Lexington, NC; eight grandchildren, Kimberly McPhail (Ryan) of Canton, GA, Kristi Maine (John) of Lexington, NC, Layne Vaughan (Mark) of Lexington, Stephanie Castevens (Kasey) of Mocksville, NC, David Simpson of Huntersville, NC, Garrett Simpson (Laurenne) of High Point, NC, Kaitlyn Carlton (Korey) and Emily Simpson of Lexington, NC; eleven great grandchildren and one on the way. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2023 at Hayworth-Miller Silas Creek Chapel with Rev. Jonathan Goodman officiating. Entombment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
