Elsie Marie Vaughn Parrish

Mrs. Elsie Marie Vaughn Parrish, 95, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at her home. She was born in Stokes Co. on August 15, 1929, the daughter of the late James Thomas Vaughn and Fleta Burrow Vaughn. Mrs. Parrish was a longtime member of Union United Methodist Church and is currently a member of Concord Methodist Church in Lewisville. She retired from Zayre’s Department Store as a sales associate. Mrs. Parrish loved her family deeply and will be missed by all who knew her. She had a green thumb, loved working with flowers and loved her hummingbirds. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Parrish. She is survived by her son, Donnie Pettitt (Linda); four grandchildren, Tim, Chad, Brad and Chris Pettitt; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Gough; and two brothers, George Vaughn and Harvey Vaughn. A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall with Pastor Eddie Evans officiating.
