RURAL HALL - Mrs. Elsie Covington Dyson, 94, passed away Sunday, April 04, 2010 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born April 14, 1915 in Stokes County to the late Robert Anderson Covington and Mary Ann Overby Covington. Mrs. Dyson was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel James Dyson Sr.; an infant son, Samuel , Jr.; and twelve brothers and sisters. Surviving are one son, Harold Dyson (Sandra) of Wilmington; five grandchildren, Karen Logan (Aaron) of Mocksville, Charles Douglas Dyson (Diane) of Garner, Valencia Ferguson (Steve) of Bowling Green, KY, Valerie Lynn Zabloudil (Ryan) of Candler, and Victoria Byers of Erie, PA; seven great-grandchildren; one great, great-grandchild; one sister-in-law, Ada Anderson of Winston-Salem; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8 at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with the Rev. Duncan Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, April 7 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Rural Hall Fire Department, P.O. Box 550, Rural Hall, NC 27045 or to Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
