Mrs. Elsie Brown Bodford, 93, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at Bermuda Commons Nursing and Rehab. She was born November 5, 1915 in Caldwell County to William Richard and Nellie Reid Brown. Mrs. Brown was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and was retired from Royal Cake Company with 25 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry F. Bodford; a grandson, Ryan Motsinger; a great grandson, Austin R. Motsinger; two sisters; two brothers and a son-in-law, Harold Whitaker. Surviving her is a son, Donald G. Bodford of Winston-Salem; two daughters, Wanda B Motsinger and husband Larry of Rock Hill, SC and Brenda B. Whitaker of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; a brother, William O. Brown of Lenoir and a sister, Maude B. White of Winston-Salem. A funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 7, 2009 at Hayworth-Miller Kinderton Chapel. Burial will follow in Westlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 6, 2009 at the funeral home.
