Eloise Thornton

Eloise Dunlap Thornton passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 22, 2022, at Randolph Hospice House. She was born June 19, 1936, and grew up in the great depression era, and in 1953 married Calvin Ernest Thornton, her loving husband. She was a lover of bowling and was in many leagues throughout her life. As well as bowling, she was fond of the outdoors, which was spent gardening and watching her favorite bird, the cardinal. Eloise was also a fan of sewing, cooking, as well as interior design. She was a devoted member of the Northwest Baptist Church and more than anything had a love for her family.

Ms. Thornton is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, two sisters, and husband.

She is survived by her son, Ernest “Ron” Ronald Thornton (Beth), two grandchildren Kaycie Nicole Thornton and Alexander Ronald Thornton, and Great Grandchild Isabella Thornton.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Entombment will follow in Eastlawn Mausoleum Chapel in Kernersville. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville.’
