Eloise Shipman Katzenmoyer

KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Eloise Shipman Katzenmoyer, 94, passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. Eloise was born on July 25, 1918 in Henderson County to the late Milas and Mae Freeman Shipman. She graduated from Dana High School and lived most of her life in Hendersonville. Eloise worked at Northwestern Bank prior to operating Chipman's Factory Outlet with her husband. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville for 72 years, where she was very active as long as her health permitted. Before moving to Kernersville to be closer to her daughter, Eloise enjoyed playing shuffleboard and was a member of the Hendersonville Shuffleboard Club. In addition to her parents, Eloise was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Kenneth H. Katzenmoyer; and eleven brothers and sisters. Surviving are her daughter, Shirley Maney (husband, Jerry) of Kernersville; one granddaughter, Donna Maney (husband, Chris Goode) of Decatur, GA; one grandson, Todd Maney (wife, Kimberly Sherrill) of Tempe, AZ; three great grandchildren, Anna Caroline and Catherine Eloise Maney of AZ, and Evan David Goode of GA; along with numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM Friday, December 28, 2012 at Grace Lutheran Church in Hendersonville. The family will receive friends following the service in the church Fellowship Hall. Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 1245 Sixth Avenue West, Hendersonville, NC 28791.
