Eloise Martin Benfield

Eloise Eva Martin Benfield, 81, of Winston-Salem, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, journeyed to heaven to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 22, 2016. Mrs. Benfield was born in Jonesville, Yadkin County on November 10, 1934 to William and Eva Macemore Martin. She was a fragile flower, but was adorned with strength and wisdom. She had a love for life, her family, her friends, but mostly her love for Jesus. She was a prayer warrior and a woman of faith and a true virtuous woman. Mrs. Benfield was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harry Benfield; two sisters, Geneva Martin and Ruby McBride. She is survived by three daughters, Melanie Davis, Valerie Parsons and husband Keith, Sheila Thomas; one son, Kevin Benfield; thirteen grandchildren, Steven Parent, Maria Avila, Cheri Waller and husband Joey, Ashley Boone and husband Sam, Jonathan Davis, James Parsons and wife Jessica, Heather Beddard and husband Andy, Andrea Jackson and husband Steven, Evaleigh Benfield, Nathan Benfield, Alexis Benfield, Joshua Thomas, Alyssa Thomas; twelve great grandchildren; two sisters, Carrie Whitaker and husband Harold, Betty Sue Mabe and husband George; one brother Garland Martin and wife Betty. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 26, 2016 at Parkview Church of God with Pastor Bobby Dishman officiating. Interment will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
