Winston-Salem- Elmer Albert ""Al"" Wolf, 84, formally of Lullington Dr., died Friday, May 1, 2009 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was born December 15, 1924 in Wellston, Oklahoma to the late Fritz and Emma Wolf. During WWII, he served in the Merchant Marines. Retired from Western Electric, he volunteered at Forsyth Medical Center. He was a member of the Pioneers and Central Terrace United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Grace; sister, Elba, and brothers, John, Alvin, Carl, and Edward. Surviving are close friends and neighbors, Pat and Charlie Weaver of Winston-Salem; several sisters-in-law, Sue Wolf of Oklahoma, Maxine Wolf of California, Lucille Wolf of California, and Janie Ford of Ohio; also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Parklawn Memorial Park with Chaplain Douglas Suggs officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Terrace United Methodist Church 3 East Devonshire St. Winston-Salem, NC 27127 or to Hospice and Palliative Care Center 101 Hospice Lane Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
